If your website has large volumes of traffic, hosts certain applications specifically designed for your business, or requires frequent backing up and storing of critical information you may want to have a dedicated servers that is not shared with other companies.
While sharing servers with other companies websites (virtual server) is perfectly acceptable for normal websites, higher levels of traffic to your website or other companies' websites on the same server may affect how your site is delivered to your customers.
